• About Us

The primary functions of the Wyandot County Veterans Service Office are to provide financial assistance to veterans and their dependents who have been met with an unexpected hardship and assist with the filing of VA claims. The Office also provides transportation services for veterans to and from various Veterans Administration medical centers in the area. The Commission staff, including county veterans’ service officers establish programs of outreach and coordination with other agencies in the county to enhance other available services to veterans.   The County Veteran Service Officers (CVSO's) advise and assist present and former members of the armed forces, veterans, and their spouses, surviving spouses, children, parents, and dependents in presenting claims or obtaining rights or benefits under any federal or state law. The Commission provides assistance with burying indigent veterans.   The Wyandot County Veterans Service Commission is legislated by title 59 of the Ohio Revised Code and funded by a portion of Wyandot County property taxes.   Each of the 88 Veterans Service Commissions in the State of Ohio has a board Commissioners created under the Revised Code Section 5901, who govern and administer the programs for their respective counties.

    Disclaimer
